? about powerheads

I have a reef ready oceanic 75 g tank. I just placed 2 1200 maxijet powerheads. I would like to hide them behind my live rock, is this okay? Most of the tanks I have seen they are on each side facing each other. If this is better than I will change it back. Thanks.

i have some behind my rock work and i haven't had a problem.

Make sure the PHs are high enough in the tank to create water surface turbulance.

yes good point nev. you want to hide them but you want to make sure they function properly

One more thought, you may need to clean the strainer on the intake side (bottom) once in awhile, so be sure that you can remove them without taking your reef apart.

I placed 4 on the back pane of glass of my 125. I put them in upside down so I could access the the intake grids. My rock completly covers the PH's. I get to the prefilters from the top which is invisable from the front.
