i think a new mushroom is growing

i noticed this when i first got the mushroom and it has been growing everyday, anyone know what it is or what its doing?

Mushrooms spread by tissue laceration. As they slowly move across the rock they leave a small piece of tissue behind. This tissue grows into a another mushroom.
