abs plastics

Due to a toilet flushing sound, I modified my standpipe to make it the "durso style". My local hardare store only had ABS plastics, so that's what I bought. Pretty much everywhere, I only see PVC tubing used for aquariums.

Is ABS safe to use?

ABS should be fine, one of my fellow reefers has some in his returns and has not caused him any problems....

ABS is fine, like PVC it's inert. If you look at most PH cases (and other 'plastic' cased equipment) they are constructed of ABS.
