new open brain and now open mouth

I just turned the lights off and about 30 minutes later its tenticles were out and then one at a time, a small little ball came out of each mouth. now its mouths are wide open. is this cuz it's hungry or is it not doing well???
oh and ive had it for about 3 days. it looks okay besides the mouth.

ALot of times new brains like you have will clean themself out when put in a new tank...when the feeder tentacles come at at night it is attempting to gather food....you can feed these brains, I give mine some small cut up shrimp, clams, sliversides etc, not to big....I not never seen one with its mouth draping open, I keep an eye on it....but try feeding it tonight see what happens, if the piece of food is so large it will just spit it back out, so small to start with...just lay the food on the feed tentacles and it will bring it to its mouth..

thanks, i think it was expelling its wastes when those things were coming out of its mouths
