Ok first let me say that plumbing is my least favorite thing to do with a tank...I know some people like to do it and get creative..to me its just PITA

some background

*180 aga with mega flows

* all 4 holes as drains

*ampmaster 2700 running back to 2 -1" seaswirls

Ok my question is Im going to hard plumb 90% of this setup. I dry fitted my drains last night. I think I should go back and use ball valves in all the drians???....what do you guys think...also how far into the sump should i run the pvc....my plan was to do it towards the top as you will see in the pics and then use lr rubble to take the place of bio balls... or should i run the drains to the bottom of the sump???Im happy with what I have so far but I like other ideas and views. I also plan on attaching the pvc to something to hold the weight of it...

dont forget this is all dry plumbed so i can change stuff around if need be.

Hey
Make sure you support the drain lines. Is there any way you can put each side one 1'and one 3/4 into one 1 1/2 line that way you would only have two lines going into the sump. Do not submerse them it will make a bubbling action. I left mine about three inches from the surface.
Let me know if this is any help

Jason,
thanks for the reply...I would love to tie the lines together so i only have 2 lines....how can I do this?? does lowes or hd sell a fitting that will intake the 1" and 3/4" to a 1.5"?? that would be ideal for me...also do you think I need ball valves on these lines...I think it would be a good idea ....what are your thoughts?

Yes they do make reducing fittings and tee’s so that both drain pipes can be run into one. You can try HD and Lowes. You can also try www.savko.com or www.aquaticeco.com they may have what you need. HTH

Here is a link to a picture of mine . They make the adapter for each size you need . Get a y to tie both together from the y you can use a street 90 to make a nice sweep up.http://community.webshots.com/s/image11/4/94/56/125949456eUbmWc_ph.jpg

I spent a lot of time plumbing my sprinkler systems. I sat there staring at all the fittings for about an hour and eventually it made sense. Find your inner plumber.
