I have been looking at all different DYI plans - and there are many great plans out there. Now biggest draw back I have found was the cost of the round acrylic tubing. So to save even more money why not make the chamber square with a slanted drain at the top.My thought is unless you are trying to create the tornado effect( tube need for the circulation effect )bubbles will rise in a square just the same?
Thoughts / opinions on this or has anybody tried a square chamber before?
Thanks,
John

I don't see why it wouldn't work. The Aqua-C remoras and urchins are all square and work pretty good for their size.

Would it not be better to have the air line input before the impeller to allow for more micro bubble pruduction?

I wa sthinking a home made Venturi with the air and venturi before the powerhead.
