Blue throat triggers are supposed to be semi-reef safe.
Does anyone keep them with a clean up crew or other fish?
I would like to have some large snails & cleaner shrimp if possible.

I have a pair in my reef, I only have a few hermits but plenty of other fish and so far (knock on wood) no problems out of them.

I have tried to keep a pinktail and a niger in my reef and it never works out for me. It seems like the tank has an agressive attitude in it. maybe its just me.

Prugs, i think that you may want to stay away from any shrimp and urchins as any trigger will pick at them from time to time. You should be ok with some snails, hermits and maybe a emerald crab or two. Just my two cents.

We have a blue throat in our reef. He's fine with the fish, corals, crabs and snails. We do have a shrimp go missing now and then, but don't know if it's him or not. Could be the flame hawk to or any number of things.

I did try to float a bag with a peppermint shrimp in it the other day and trigger starting striking the bag, had to float it in the sump, with a couple of little bit marks out of the bag.
