when I feed food espically soaked mysis in garlic and I put it in the tank and the skimmer goes nuts it CRAPs micro bubbles for a good 30-45 min maybe longer I never watched it that long. (Przim Pro HOB)

Does anyone here turn there skimmer off during feeding?

Also if I stick my hand the water it make's a funny noise as well, I know all this is normal cause I have friends who say the same thing happens with there skimmers (Euro-Reef, etc).

Yes, I also have a euro and it will go nuts at the slightest thing. I didn't have problems w/food setting it off until I changed foods, now I do. So I just turn it off during feedings.

yah I figured I might turn it off for 20 min, shouldn't hurt anything, just wasn't sure if this would cause the skimmer to basicly become disabled for hours about building its foam colum back up.

If I'm feeding the coral (DT'S or Cyclopee) I turn it off for 2-3 hrs.
if the fish are being feed I dont they eat quickly.

I know quite a few reefers that run their skimmers only part of the day; it will not hurt the performance.
