I am looking into Supplementing my current lighting situation for a tank 100g (22 inches tall) with clams and SPS. I currently have 2 250w SE Mh and 2 40w no for actinic supplementation. I have had great success using 10k bulbs, but prefer the look the of the bluer bulbs. I have used a 20k xm for the last 6 months, but the growth of my corals has slowed down quite a bit, and in recent weeks I have seen one die off, and another not look so great. So I am thinking of an economical way to upgrade the quantity of my light output, yet still be able to use the bluer bulbs.
My current thought is to use the hamilton 14k for the 250's. Any suggestions on what I could use to supplement this. I could upgrade to VHO's, or T5's to supplement this. What about a 150w 50k Iwasaki? How does the output on this compare to the 150w DE? Are there 150DE 20k or 50k bulbs? Thanks for any suggestions
