Have just hooked my RO/DI up and am suprised at how much "bad" drain water is flowing. I haven't measured it but it seems to be at least 2 parts bad to on part good.

Is this normal?

No need to waste the 'waste' water though - it's great for watering plants, cleaning dishes & clothes, washing the car, mopping the floor, etc.

Most RO units run more efficiently at 3 parts waste to 1 part filtered, Just my two cents.
