OK what is the min requirments for setting up a frag tank?
I know lighting and a skimmer.

What size tank?
Is a 10G to small?
Can I use a 15L or a 20L if a 10 is to small?
Should it have LS or LR?
I would also assume a CA reactor or at least drip something for hard corals.

thanks
Ray

I use a 30 Breeder and it is plumbed into my main system so I do not need any water treatment equipment. I also run a 250 W, 10,000 K, Double Ended lamp over the frag tank.

Keep in mind, if everything is plumbed together, everything will suffer in case of a problem.
Bigger is better, better water stability. Separate system is more $$. I plumbed a 75g into my 125g, going online shortly.
Smaller tanks will work, I would go with at least a 20g

What would the min lighting be if say I kept the corals at the top?
This will have to be seperate because it will be setup in my garage.

thanks

You will get many answers to this question. My answer would be
a 10k 175 watt metal halide and a 65 watt blue power compact over a 30 gallon Breeder for acro frags with corals needing lesser light on the edges. Anything below 30 gallons and I believe you will have heating problems.
