Well guys and gals. It is that time again. I have started a league up for the BRS. First 9 people to join are in. Thing is, this time it isn't free. I signed up for sportsline.com. League winner will recieve $150, but you pay $30 in. It is a head to head league, just like the football one I ran.

I think roto style 5x5 for free thru yahoo might be the way to go...

I like fantasy sports but baseball is just such a long season that everytime Ive tried to play, I quickly lose interest.

That is my reason for not joining.

I'd love to play, but $30 is a bit much..... I'd pay $10-$15, but $30 is pushing it (unless the pot was much larger). Like Todd, I also prefer roto for baseball... honestly can't stand H2H baseball. H2H football is okay, but baseball has got to be roto style for me to be interested... Sorry. :rolleyes:

Grr, you just can't please everybody. I can change it to Roto, I do like that better for baseball, but thought with all of us knowing eachother head to head might keep it more competitive, as even if you are in last place you can try to win a couple in the end, play the spoiler. With roto that doesn't happen, people are out of competition much earlier I think.

Draft can be changed.

The money thing, a couple people from the football league suggested sucking it up and paying in for a site, so we get live updates, and I don't have to collect money (if there is a pot), which I still never got from one guy. I am up for a free yahoo thing, and we could do the same $10 bucks in and winner gets a local GC if some LFS would like to donate/sell. Mike was good enough to throw in an additional stake for the last one so we could reward the top two teams.

Give me some feedback, and lets get a league going.

I think each individual team can kick in some money to get live stats (much like one can with Yahoo's football league)

That way the hardcores can kick in the extra $9.95 or whatever to get live stats vs. those that are more casual getting the stats some 12 hours later.

How exactly does Roto work? I'd most likely be game to join.

I'd be in for $10 or even $15.

ducker: Roto is the system where you accumulate total points based on number of hits, HR, RBI, etc and you have one big "score".... There is no separation between weeks (like in H2H) --- it's just beginning to end of the season.
