What kind of egg crate for tank top?

I have found some egg crates at Lowes but they have several kinds.
I am guessing it is the grid kind that is used for tanks because the others wouldn't let light through much . Is this right ?

Keep in mind that using eggcrate over your tank will reduce the light that you get in your tank. Eggcrate is manufactured as a light "diffuser".
