Hi,

Does anyone know who or what type of herbivor eats this
type of algae? It's called: Lobophora Variegata.

Non of my current tank mates touch it and it is slowly
starting to spread from rock to rock. I'm removing it by
hand at this time - trying to control it.

I'm sure part of the problem are the nutrients in the water.
I'm actually looking into the possibility of cutting back some of
the feeding. However, that is not my first choice.

My skimmer is a ETSS RD3 which I'm in the process of replacing.
That may be the biggest factor here in that I'm not doing a good
job of skimming.

Other than that, my Purple and Kole tang do not touch it. Other
than that, the few hermits I have (mostly Micro from ipsf) do not
touch it. Snails are queen conchs, a couple astrea's and a large
turbo or 2. I have some of the smaller stombus gig's (sp???) but
they just mulitply like rabbits and keep the other types of algae
in check.

I'd wager that I'm hurting on the clean up crew side of things. I'm
considering getting a serpent star (red type) if it would help
eat some of the left over food.

Anyway - thanks for your help and time.

Here is an image that shows the algae I'm talking about.
Have a good day.
