View Full Version : wiring IC MH ballast. Did i get this right? Pic included

ok i was wiring my ballast and kinda got confused, i connected the ground wire from the power cord and socket connector cord, then i added a wire to go from the nut that holds all them together, to the ground screw on the ballast. i took the gound wire on the ballast and screwed it the the ground on the ballast too. I included a pic so you can visually see what i did.

Not exactly how I wired mine, but it should work the same.

I had negative, positive and ground (all 3 wires) going to an extension cord into my X-10 timer. The lamp wires (yellow and blue) to the bulb socket. The reflector was then grounded to the ballast ground screw.

All three of them fire OK everytime. I also don't have any problems with interference on my X10 timers.

Anyways if you really really want to make sure, post this thread on the IceCap forum here on RC. They are quick to respond.

The way i did it doesnt work. I had to do it the way you did, and everything worked great.
