Nice!

I need to get a system. A friend of mine is making a fiberglass encloser for some subs and speakers, along with an amp or 2. I also have another friend getting me a nice deal on indash screens.

Heres some pics of my 1998 Dodge Avenger..Its pretty much stock.

Once I get a job Im getting a cold air intake, tint, rims, body kit, and a nice exhaust. This is how it should look after all that is done..

I don't care for the hood pins but I like the style of hood. Can your friend get a good price on fold down LCD screens?

Well its dangerous to have the hood without the hoodpins. If it was a stock hood then it would be no problem, but since its aftermarket you need the pins for some reason.

Yes.. My friend can get a good price but its a pain since we have to wait for the items to get overstocked.

You can have an aftermarket hood without hood pins. People do it because it "looks cool" Which it really doesnt.

They have to have the correct bracing in them to latch like normal, and their more expensive. I could have gotten a lift off design of the same hood for my Mustang for $100 less, but I don't like the look of hood-pins, so I paid the extra.

My 2002 Audi S4. I wont tell how many WRXs Ive left in the dust. of course an m3 might beat me but thats because im stock. THIS CAR CAN GET WAY OVER 600 hp if tuned properly. i just dont have the 30 grand. The s4 is a much better handling car anyways.

with my WRX.
weight is your enemy when it comes to performance.
audi use to be in rally so what your knocking off your own car?
i'd rather have a $32,000 Sti with the extra $8,000 than have a heavy S4.
it's also funny that my $24,000 subaru can match your $40,000 audi.

Comparing a 25,000 dollar car to a 40,000 doallr car. Sounds fair. Just give the 25,000 dollar one 15k worth of parts and tuning so they are both even price wise, then compare. Wonder who will win?

I went to a car show a few months ago and they had the evo and sti there. Both are very awesome cars! I didn't care for the hood scoop on the sti, but I would love to have either of those cars. There is something about that evo, it just calls my name.

I love both those cars too but the wings are a little too much for me. If you want a 4 door with awd with performance you can't go wrong with either two. Unless you want leather, heated seats, auto climate, etc... then the S4 is for you but at a higher price and a less fun factor. (IMO)

I have a WRX 2002 stock and I was just asked the other day by a guy with a tricked out Honda if I was gonna do anything to it. I said "Why, it's plenty fast. I would only get the bragging rights about how much HP I got but would never get to feel the g's unless I took it to the dragstrip, too much traffic around to bother with having tons of HP." I didn't mention the dragstrip would be lame for this car as it was made for mega fast cornering anyway.

I'm not Anti-Horse power but "my car can eat your car" talk is stupid. Like the guy said earlier it's more the driver and how well they know their cars capabilities. I would like to point out, with all-wheel-drive I definitely have an advantage over someone with tons of HP and rear wheel drive. You can't peel the tires on this car, it has so much grip.

There is a different style in everything. lets not get into enthusiasm. It's just that the WRX is a VERY common care and I probably can find a race with one everytime i leave the house. Most of those cars are tuned so i find a stock car beating any tuned one especially a light one good. and you are correct. Any guy could be bad with a clutch. I just have a lot of pride for my car. I can agree that the " my car will eat your car" stuff is pointless. Idk i might buy it. the 3 year test drive is half over :-p

If I wanted the feeling of a stock car beating a tuned car I would've bought a ZO6. Hey, I have a lot of pride in my car too but I don't go out on the internet saying stuff like, "I wont tell how many WRXs Ive left in the dust." If you think that " my car will eat your car" stuff is pointless then you should look in the mirror and see who started this is the first place. It's okay all will be forgotten when you finally lose to that tuned WRX.

Look, there's always going to be another car on the road that will be faster than you.

IMO, so long as you have decent performance, comfort, and safety....in a vehicle that's cool to roll in.....it's all good.

Now, cool is a very subjective thing. For some folks, cool is a car that can double as a hang-glider. Hey, more power to them.

people have a lot of pride and sensitivity issues at times... there is always someone or something better, im a scoobie fan, and i once read in a car/driver mag, they were comparing rexs w/ the bmw 3?? and audi...

i mean it's what ever brings you pleasure, ... yah m3 is fast and what not, but u try parking that thing in tight spots? ya audi is nice and what not, but the 'price'...... and 1/4 miles, everything is about that wherever i go.... people always talking about their time slip, reaction time, the launch and this and that.. come on now, if u really wanted to see WHAT could SMOKE WHAT, take it to one of those tracks and race a course... (japan i think got those), u can see some in the option videos, seen like skylines blown away like nothing on the corners, oh well, whatever pleases you !!!..

The G35 is a little longer to fit the back seats. The motor is pretty much the same. I personally would take the G35 over the 350, I just think it looks much better. Gorgous car!!!!

I didn't realize it has rear seats. It does seem to be more refined looking than the 350.

thrlride
02/23/2004, 09:29 AM
You can call them rear seats, but I don't think a child seat would even fit in there if the front passenger was anywhere near 6'. I think it is very refined and sexy. I would trade my new Tahoe in for it in a second if I could swing the car payments...
All that car for about $35000 with navigation. Can you imagine a convertible of that? SAWEET!

yeah, the g35 is where its at, beautiful car IMO. Can't wait till the AWD Twin Turbo model comes out so I can finally have my american Skyline :D

thrlride
02/23/2004, 09:38 AM
I haven't heard about twin turbo... AWD adds about 300 lbs to it so I would take a rear wheel drive twin turbo.

Dyncaus
02/23/2004, 11:52 AM
yeah, but the AWD is supposed to be based on the Skyline GTR. That means you get the benefit of AWD when you lose traction, but once you get moving it can transfer up to 90% or so of its traction to the rear wheels so you get the benefit of RWD. All I know is i have seen videos of Skylines running the quarter, and they are some sweet cars. My favorite actually. :D

G35>350Z Also, everything Ive read suggests the G35 provides a much nicer ride.

There is no special US edition of the Skyline. They can only be imported into the country through a company called Motorex. A loaded R34 runs about $90k plus. Lower models can be had for around $30-40 but those are non turbo and basically just NOT cool at all :)

I've seen many broken windshields (pics, not in person) where the latch ripped off the CF or fiberglass hood while the person was driving down the highway. I also know that many people run the exact same hoods and never have a problem. I just wouldn't chance it. I think that a hood flying into your windshield while you're driving 70 mph would do more harm than just breaking the windshield. I'd probably fly off the road from the scare.
