What is the best to use for glueing acrylic?

Hello all,

I was wondering what you guys use for putting your acrylic together. I am hearing things about weldon 16 or something? And also is there a type of silicone your can use? Where do you guys buy these products?

I think weldon is definately favourite - 16 is like a gell/glue. I have used 4 which is more like water, but sorks great so long as your cuts are very clean.

You can buy it on-line at www.tapplastics.com - not sure if they have stores in Canada.

Not sure about silicone on acrylic, I'd guess it would be fine ..

Silicone won't work - it doesn't stick to acrylic. You need to use a quality acrylic cement like Weld-On. You should be able to find it at a plastics supply house. A flip through the phone book should produce some results. HTH
