i saw your skimmers in a post and was wodering what you used in between the drain elbow and the gate valve in side. was it a slip fitting or threaded. how did you seal it

all i used was a peice of 1" pipe and some weld-on 8 or 16 cant remeber wich one, but if i had to do it all over agian(probably will) i'll use a 1" uniseal gasket.
