These are some pictures of a stand I made back when I was 16. It's made of 1" Plywood, triple sealed, painted black with white specs, and satin clear coated with a slab of 18"x36"x5/8" black marble over it. Oh, and don't worry about the rear support being so small, it is quite sturdy and stable. Opinions/critisism welcome.

nice stand. Very unique design.

:eek1: I hope that hypodermic needle is for joining plastic and not for heroin use. A mind is a terrible thing to waste:)

best wishes

What? No marble back splash to hide the tank trim? Where's the marble canopy? ;) Looks great. I think we need more innovative designs in tank stands/canopies in the States like this one.

Lol, no that needle is for zapping aptasia, didn't notice it when I took the pic. Well, my tank is pretty bare from a catastrophe that I had a few weeks ago with an uncle that stayed in my room for a few days. I spent the night at my gf's and he didn't call me to ask how to turn the lights off so he just unplugged everything from the wall. When I came home the next morning, the few corals that I had and both of my fish were dead and the water was cloudy. The only things that made it were a crab, 3 large snails, and my peppermint shrimp. The canopy that matches the stand is still in the works, but will probably get delayed because what's the use of shining a 175W pendant on a pepperming shrimp? :)

Nice design. A welcome break from the normal "box" design.
