I've almost got my plans completed for my sump/refugium. I plan on having three sections divided by bubble reducing baffles. Should I worry about spending extra money buying colored acrylic or just go with clear. The reason I'm asking is the potential for algea growth in the sections other than the refugium from light filtering through the baffles. I'm hoping/assuming that the macro in my refugium should outcompete hair algae trying to grow in those other sections, but am curious if my worries are justified?

i doubt you would get much in your sump, but if there was a little, would it hurt? think of it as an algae turf scrubber, better to have algae growth in the refug. and sump than the tank.

I agree. I really agree after seeing the difference in cost between colored and clear. Thanks for your input.
