yea i dont think it was a "promotion" more of a mess up and possibly the end of some web dudes career with them!

I ship 50-60 ups packages a week. And i can tell you they are losing $ big time on this deal.. Greg got 10 buckets shipped to him for $11???

Just for kicks i ran the numbers through my ups account to ship a bucket ACROSS THE STREET!!! Came to $17.13 for one.. So $171.30 for 10.... Now i assume petsmart is not across the street from greg...

Don't kid yourself. The UPS rates they pay are entirely different then what consumers pay, but $10 bucks to us is a great deal. I suspect there are promotional wars going on between Marineland products and Central companies. Keep an eye out next for chemical wars between the two now that Central owns Kent.

actually i am not a consumer. I have a commercial ups account with their max discount, i used that in the calculation. As i said I spend $500-$600 week on ups.

It was $11 for all 10 buckets...60 pounds each...

I got 10 too, -10% discount means I actually didnt pay for shipping. Ended up costing $34.26 per bucket in total

Stang8, Here at Staples Corporate HQ(a UPS partner) I have seen the discounts where millions per month are shipped. You think you got the max discount?

While I don't think Marineland ships as much as Staples I bet they ship more than 6-8 hundred a week.

In any case the point is we did a good job as a club finding a good deal and spreading the info to the members to take advantage of. I also think that the interest speaks well to the confidence so many have in IO as a product.

good point. im sure people that ship millions a month get a better discount. Im going by what they tell me at ups.. Regardless i doubt that even those folks can ship 10 packages totalling 600 # for $11.

Hey, check this out. Me and Littlep93056 went to three Petsmart and pick up 9 bucket @ $31.43 with there add and a 10% off, I guess we got lucky. Sorry to here what happen to Gumhead hope evrything will be ok.

Nope, that's not what happened. I was charged something like 34.99/bucket minus 10%, plus tax, plus shipping. Total in the end for 10 buckets worked out to just over $50/bucket delivered, which is what I've always got from That Fish Place. Looked great at first, but I got screwed.

that's wierd. I got all ten buckets shipped for $11. that's $1.10 per bucket.

Checked my AA card and it remained the same as i agreed to pay.

i talked with my wife about this deal and she encouragedme to order more. For the first time in my reef keeping life that my wife actually encourage me to order more of something regarding reef.

Right now, it's $59.98 for the 200g at Petsmart ($34.99+$16+$8.99). I haven't found a free shipping coupon code that works. Anyone know a way to get a better deal? I tried two buckets and the FREE50SHIP code, but that didn't seem to work either.
