I need help defining what "Recommended minimum linear overflow size = 5 inches" means. Does it mean the total length of the overflow? Or does it mean 5 inches of the notched part of the overflow where the water is allowed to flow through? So for instance (and this is purely an example) if I had something like this:

-i_i-i_i- <-- if each - and _ equal one inch. THis is supposed to represent only 2 dips down in the overflow.

or does it refer to this, where there are 5 dips down, each an inch:

-i_i-i_i-i_i-i_i-i_i-

Sorry if my pictures are a bit wierd, but I dont really know how to get my point across anyother way.

I think that the linear flow would also include the distance created from the teeth. That is extra distance that the water will be able to flow over/around. IMO

Thats what im thinking also, however I want to be absolutely sure before I go to the acrylic shop and have them build one for me.

Any other thoughts?
