My polyps are not doing too well. My orange ones already appear dead and my blue ones are headed that way.
Parameters are:
Lighting 640 watts vho 1/2 actinic, 1/2 white
SG 1.025
Calcium 536
Alk 10.05
Iodine .06
Magnesium 1470
Stronium .94

Stronium is still a little low, but everything else seems to be ok. The polyps are placed on the bottom. Do they need to be higher to get stronger light? What are your opinions? Help is appreciated?

Calcium levels seem a bit high. I was told to keep it around 420-450 ppms.

What is your definition of "appearing to be dead"? Are they just closed up or are you getting that white fungus around them, and physically deteriorating?

Possible that you have pests like the aeolid nudibranchs that eat polyps. They come out at night. Or, look for sundial snails. They eat polyps as well. They also come out at night. I use my turkey baster to blow on the polyps so they would close, then it's easy to spot any critters that might be eating them.

They are not opening and are turning or have turned white, kind of translucent.

Also, the tank is 3 months old. I wouldn't think I would have any unwanted critters. Never know though.

Those critters come as hitch-hikers with each peice of LR or coral you put into the tank. I would recommend that you look at your zo's when the lights are off with a flashlight. You'd be amazed at the diversity of life that comes out after dark.
