Ok guys,

I am about to setup a 10g Refugium for my tank in my garage, doesn't have to be pretty, I am making a DIY overflow box and wanted to put sand, but not sure which type to get, if the bag doesn't say southdown, will regular playsand be ok, or rather what description should I look for on the bag, any info would be helpful

Thanks
Trey

In Houston HD will not carry the White Castle sand. All you need is regular tropical play sand you can buy for about $3 a bag. It is silica based but several people have used it w/ no problems including myself.

Hey thanks texasreefer, I went by there and saw that sand but wasn't sure if it was bad or not. I will try it

Thanks again
