photo question

I have looked at other threads and been in the photography forum and the say that you have to size a pic down to 850 by 600pix min. I have gone down further then that and its still to big. Exactly what size does a pic need to be?

Thanks for the bmp rgentry I just posted a pic. at 425 by 300 it took but it looks like you can go bigger.

There are a couple of things that affect the bit size of a photo;
- How big an image you start with
- How much you reduce it by
- With JPG the compression ratio

Typically I'll reduce it to 640x480 with 25-30% compression and it fits and looks acceptable. Compressing to much will cause the photo to loose resolution which may/may not be noticeable, you just have to check. You can also check the bit size with file manager or your photo program may also give you the size.
