Hello all:

JBJ has some new powerheads out that are very competitive for the same power in their size. I've just purchased two, but I'm a little hesitant to put it in without asking the group.

the units are made of ABS plastic and seem a little "cheesy" to me. When i opened one (to look at the impeller assembly to see what it looked like) I was a little dissappointed to see silicone grease somewhat caked on the impeller shaft. I don't know if this is too good for my tanks.. :(

Anyone else have these pumps? Any experiences with them?

Same experience. I also noticed the grease caked on- I wiped a little off which may have caused my problem. I put mine in the tank. About three days later I had to unplug the pump for something... I had problems when I tried to plug it back in. After completely taking it out of the tank and putting it back in, it restarted. I probably wont buy another one.

I have had two JBJ 1300 PHs for ten months. I clean them with each water change. I need to turn them on and off a few times to get them to run silently though.
