I have a 65 gallon tank that i'm starting from scratch. I plan to keep only fish and live rock, no corals.
can you tell me if this lighting is sufficient to start with:

it's JEBO 36" 110W(55wx2) Power Compact Lighting

Looks like that should do good for fish only. You may need to upgrade to halides if you're ever going to start a reef.

This should be fine, I have been doing alot of research into lighting lately.
Its 25$ more, and 2x the power :P
but I think it will hang off your tank :/

a couple of things. MOST of this time in this hobby you get what you pay for. i could be very very wrong but personally i would be skeptable about a 4x55 for only 80 bucks. that being said. 110w of lighting on a fowlr is quite sufficient. but, like the above said, if a reef is a posibility, upgrade the lighting now.

That light would work fine for now, and if you do decide to upgrade down the road you can always dismantle the canopy and use the lights w/whatever you decide to use. In fact w/the light you were looking at you would still be able to keep many of the soft corals such as shrooms, zoanthids, green star polyps, xenia, etc. Halides are not required to keep a reef tank.
Be careful I ordered the 48" lights they were damaged during shipping. I put a claim in with UPS and I have not heard anything back. At first they were good about communicating but since the ball is back in their court I feel they may have forgotten about me :( anyways it is def. a $80 fixture!
