Hi Dr Ron,
Found 2 of these strange things in my dwarf seahorse tank. At first glance I thought they were "grapes" from some grape caulerpa, then they started moving. They moved similar to a jellyfish by pumping their sack like body. They are the same green color as grape caulerpa.

Wow! Neato pics! I have an old microscope that belonged to my father-in-law. I've been meaning to take it out and suck up some water from just above and below my sand bed to see what's in there.

Hi Kathy,

They are perfectly good little hydroid jellyfish, probably of a species similar to [i]Euphysa[i]. They are asexually budded off some of the hydroids in your tank. They may well get big enough to kill and eat sea horse babies.
