I have never bought any livestock from over the internet i always have used the LFS but have notices prices are considerably cheaper on the net. I have heard of coppered I do not know what that means Im thinking its something in the liquid with the fish when they are shipped. If I buy fish over the internet can someone explain the process of how they are shipped, and a step by step guide of what to do when they arrive.

Thank you

P.S. Could you explain coppered?

Jason,

I have never heard the term "coppered" used, but I would imagine that the store uses copper in their water to minimize/eliminate disease and parasites. In this case, the water in the shipping bag would have copper in it as well. If you have a reef tank, you want to make sure that you do not allow any water from the bag into your tank. Copper is extremely toxic to invertebrates, even in low levels.

George
