Hello,
I just purchased a yellow tang to put in reef tank to take care of a few small patches of hair algae.Well the next day I noticed all these little white spots all over it.So what is the best way to cure since catching and removing to QT tank is not a option.I have alot of sps corals in tank as well along with the regular clean up critters. Is the fish pretty much doomed.Any help will be greatly appreciated

The only truly reliable cures do involve QT. As for treating in tank, the only thing that has shown some anecdotal evidence of working in mild cases is feeding the fish foods soaked in garlic oil.

I would suggest trying tee tree oil medications or tee tree oil itself. It will not harm inverts and should help the ich. I have something called MelaFix which is a tee tree oil medication for marine fish diseases. It's one of the only non-copper medications I know of.

MelaFix might work for some bacterial problems, but it is not marketed for parasitic problems such as ick.
