One of my sailfin's eye appears to be bulging. Really freaky. Does anyone know what could cause that?

Probably pop eye, air is trapped behind the eye. I've had fish occasionally get this, I read it can be from stress and other things. On my fish it went away in about two weeks. During that time though the fish looked really freaky!

Ditto the popeye guess. Good feedings and water conditions can correct the problem.

My tank does have its fair amount of microbubbles. I think the higher flow that I'm getting in the sump now might be the cause. I'm going to add a pipe to the bulkhead going to the iwaki. Then bring the pipe lower in the sump to try and get under the bubbles. The Sump is a cheap 40Gal Rubbermaid. No square edges to attach a baffle without building a standalone design.

You don't need square edges.. A tube and a half of silicone will work wonders... :D :lmao:

Figures there's an article on it this month :) I'll have to reed that. 2 reasons
1. looks - not a ton of em so no big deal
2. Read in a search on pop eye that air is getting behind the eye. I thought maybe this could be contributing.
