I just found this in one of my prop tanks, thought I would share ;)

I have several unidentified snails in the tank, so I have no idea who layed them.

The hash marks on the ruler are millimeters

here is the Link (http://www.atlantisaquatic.com/image4.html) to some of the snail pics.

Brian,

This snail from your site looks like what I have. http://www.atlantisaquatic.com/images/smtinysnail0410.jpg

I've had these for awhile now and they don't seem to get bigger than 1/4"-1/2" and readily reproduce.I've sent some to Dr.Ron and he's Id them as a cerith (sp). These are very cool snails in that they clean everything and everywhere cause they stay small.

I set up another tank with the purpose of breeding these guy's and now have enough that I am willing to trade these for frags if anyone's intrested.

Very Cool Brian!!

My turbos reproduce in my tank but I've never seen any eggs. Do turbos lay eggs or are they live bearers?

I must agree, they look like ceriths. I have some Cortez Ceriths, and they look very similar. Mine clean everywhere, including the glass just below the sand surface.

And cool pic of the snail eggs! I have just found some in my tank that look very close to the ones that Vilas found in her tank, but my camera can't focus on them :(

My cerith lay eggs like this. They *rarely* hatch, although I have seen some 2-3mm cerith snails on my glass... don't know if they end up becoming somebody's meal though...

The cerinths (if that's what they are :) ) reproduce like mad.

I have thousands all over the place.

Hello,

I am interested as well in setting up a tank for ceriths. Can you give me any advice based on your experience? I am interested in your setup, foods, etc...

I would bve happy to trade some nassarius for some tank raised ceriths! Let me know, I would be interested in 50-100.

I just got a whole mess of those snails from some florida LR. Do you know if they are intertidal? They spend a lot of time near the surface of my tank / out of the water under the lip. Hopefully mine will reproduce as well.

Thanks!
