A few people have requested pics and info on these fish. I got him in yesterday. He spent all of yesterday and this morning hiding behind the LR but started coming out this afternoon and now he's hanging out and swimming nicely. Not shy at all anymore. I really like this fish. Great looking, fun to watch.

Cute! Glad you got your wrasse... is he eating okay?

One of mine never ate and died, but the other is still doing well and is very active.

The sandstorms he causes every few days are annoying though. He can't seem to get enough holes to swim in under the rock.

Yeah he's eating fine and swimming around great. My LR has tons of caves and he goes in and out of them all day. He hasn't gone into the sand once yet that I know of.

From the looks of your pictures your tank is still fairly new. There is no coralline showing on the glass or encrusted on the rock.

Even after the initial cycle, a tank will go through drastic maturity changes within the first year or so. This is nothing to be alarmed over, but aware.

The Scott's is a fairly hardy fish as long as you keep the water pristine and the diet varied and nutritous.

The marine center out of Dallas, TX can get them.
http://www.themarinecenter.com/

You'll pay a few dollars more, but they have excellent quality and availability.

Do the males lose color eventually if you just keep them singly? sicchift, is your wrasse a male or female? How do you tell?
