Hello all,

I finally managed to catch this pair of crabs from the main tank and plop them in the refugium. I'm pretty sure they are both red Mithrax species. they so far only eat algae, altho one chased my condy anemone away from its perch. the duel lasted about 2 hours, kinda neat.
pic is of same crab as they are identical.

Got the same guys, posted the same sort of pictures, was told red variety of Mithrax sculptus (e.g. red emerald crab).

They're off to see the octopus whenever I grab one. They appear so far to only pick at algae and sponges, haven't seen them chase snails or hermits.

Nice picture! How did you take, & how did you post so that it appears inline? Are you violating the 50K attachment limit, because the resolution is outstanding!

Thanks.
hehe, no i'm not violating the policy. the pics are stored in my gallery here.
I took the bugger and put him on a piece of plastic then with my strong magnifying glass in front of my digital camera with flash took the shot. seems to work pretty well.
