Hello Dr. Ron and everyone,
I finally caught my mantis shrimp and put him in the refugium. I think he is a peacock mantis, crusher type from what my books say, although i realize there are a lot of different species.
also, is this female, looks like swimmerets below (trying to remember my college zoology)

Hi,

Yes, it is a nice gonodactylid, quite possibly a species of Odontodactylus. There are several species in that genus and they all have the name of "Peacock" mantis shrimps.

Be careful, the strike from the front claws is quite strong and can cause you harm. :eek2:
