computer viruses/trojans/worms/etc

Any one know of a good site to scan your computer for any of these nasties? got a few running loose and can't get tech help from norton. Also a site to cure or eradicate them

Do you have Norton installed now? I have had good luck with Norton. I think you can download a trial verssion from both McAfee and Norton.

yes installed and supposedly running. Won't upload any new updates and when done mannually.... won't take. even windows updates won't take

I belive both Norton (Symantec) and McAfee have on-line Antivirus scan available. Don't know how well they work vs. the full product.

Another good idea is to check for spyware. A good product is Ad-Aware.

You need to run norton from the boot up before window starts. I've had viruses that prevent norton from running properly.
