My girlfriend asked me this and I think the answer is no. Is there any word (no abbrev.) that has the letter Q that is NOT followed by a U?

Well see Q-Tip is a name brand. Not really a word. I thought Shaq but it's an abreviation AND a name.

If it is a word used by English speakers and understood by all English speakers, then it is in our language. Origin has no affect on determining whther a word is in our language or not, touchee.
