As I approached his store, I am greeted by a nice display of skimmers created by Bar Aquatics of Spokane Wa.

Looking to the far left as I entered the store, I notice a nice small display of dry goods. Hmm as I look at the merchandise wondering why there is not a lot more... It's not untill later that I find out why. Kevin is a true hobbyiest at heart. He doesn't pressure anyone into buying stuff they don't need. He only carries the bare neccesities and the better products. And let me tell you, I have not seen such awesome prices like this any where before. He was cheaper on alot of the stuff then what you can find on the internet. Man!!!

That's when I notice this. Wow, a MH hood. I don't ever see these at any other stores. Most of them I never see any lighting fixtures at all. And his prices is cheap.

I am telling you. Spokane got 6 inches when I was up there. They have 4 more from the other day.

I have to drive 2.5 hours to go there and those guys up there are lucky to have him there.

Nice to see some pics of Kevin's place up. Thanks, Yello!

I'm around 2.5-3 hours west of Spokane (in Cashmere) and have literally been trying to make up an excuse to get over there and see his shop...but I haven't been able to yet. One person in the area has been, and said it was one the cleanest and best-priced shop they have ever been to (and they frequent Spokane and Seattle area stores). I also heard about one of his tank with a shoal of anthias in it--happen to have any pics of that one? I'm a nut for anthias.

Props to you, Kevin. Keep it up! Any thoughts about a sister store in Central WA? ;)

You can definitely see Kevin is a dedicated hobbyist before business man. I really hope he is successful, as it is so hard to find a good LFS.

I got a chance to visit Barr Aquatic (Zephrant on RC) when I picked up my custom tank. Everything looked top notch.

And, since it is Christmas, I'll take the whole family there to buy me frags.....:D

In the photo with the black hood (end view) there is the top half of what appears to be a Kalkreactor with a quick-release union fitting on top if i am guessing right? I am interested in it if it's available. Thanks, Mike. Nice looking store-good luck with it.

Nice looking store. Small and simple. Not a lot of clutter like you see in some places. And not a ton of ads saying "buy this product because it is the best".

I have been to Kevin's house to see his tank but have yet to be at his store. These are the first shots I saw of his store, looks great. I will have to make it out to Spokane (from the Seattle area) in the near future.

Can you share some of the GREAT prices on things you mention Yellowtang? Interesting to see how they compare to my LFS.

Yellotang
11/29/2003, 11:56 AM
Not off the top of my head, but I can tell you that alot of his prices was below that which you can find online. Amazingly low.

Prices that the other LFS say are their costs. My LFS chocked and couldn't match his prices at all.

I'm a big fan of Kevin. He's one of the reasons I decided to make RC my home...:D

I'd kill for a LFS like that in my area. Great job Kevin...

Thanks for posting YT,
