My flame angel has been nipping at my Alveopora. He leaves my toadstool, and sun coral alone. Does anyone know if it will be safe to add an elegance coral?

About as safe as anything else. My flame nips all day at the LR, so I have a pretty good feeling when I add coral, it's up for some nipping!

Dwarf angels are mostly hit or miss in a reef. You might get a nipper or you might get a reef eater or one that wont even look at the corals. You will never know till you put in the corals, thats the bad part. It will all depend what his fancys are. He might not want to nip or eat the elegance. Maybe when you put and elegance he will leave your other corals alone. Maybe if you put the elegance in, he will magically leave all corals alone, no way of knowing, thats why they are hit or miss. Hope I could have had a better more accurate answer, but thats what hit or miss means.

I had a Flame that would not bother the corals (including an Elegance), but man, place a nice tradacnid clam in there, it was chowder.
