Acrylic ?

I want to make a small tank from acrylic. Where do you get it? How thick should it be? It will probably be less than 20 gal

For a small tank, I'd look at the local LFS in your area just to see if they have what you want. You may also want to try tenecor.com who seem to make some nice stuff.

You can pick it up at any glass repair shop. They usually sell
the silicone as well.
