wet/dry not working

k, everything was working untill a few nights ago, when my wet/dry hang on went crazy starting shot out air (out of powerhead not syphon tube). well it started with my syphon tubes not working it would not suck water, a couple of days i got it working or at least one of the syphon tubes but i need both so i know if one goes out i have time to fix it.

ANY SUGGESTION I NEED HELP ASAP?

My best advise is to get rid of the wet dry and any media in it. Get a quality skimmer and 4-6 inches of sand and 1-2 x the tank size and you will evade these headaches.

well i might get a new skimmer, but i don't know about the wet/dry i might buy, BUT I HIGHLY DOUBT IT!!!

If you're bent on keeping the wet/dry maybe tell us more about it..I'm afraid I don't understand the problem. Are you saying you have an H.O.T. wet/dry? or are you talking about the overflow box?!

Watch your overfow box, is the water flowing thru the slots creating bubbles? Sometimes this is enough to fill your siphon with air. Similarly is the return pump one that came with the wet dry? If it is too strong you will suck the sump dry and pump air into the tank in the return, you will get the same resullt if the wet dry gets clogged and restricts water flow to the sump.

How bout this, drop the wetdry and get a hang on refugium from Drfosters. http://www.drsfostersmith.com Put on a skimmer and with all that and live rock you should have some good filtration going on.
