What does coralline algae look like ?

Most people have mentioned it one time or another, but I have absolutely no idea what it looks like. Can someone offer a brief description ?

All of that awesome purple/pink stuff encrusting the rock is coralline algae.

Wish I had some pics, mine just started to take off. It is normally pink or purple and has a rocky texture. It will start in small splotches on your live rock and ideally spread over all of your rock, plumbing, and glass. I know someone will have some awesome coralline pics for you. Bump.
