I have had good success fragging various 'shrooms over the last few months, and would like to have a go at a very large and beautiful spikey green Rhodactis and a pretty good sized green elephant ear disc. My question is, will the same technique (slicing off the head and quartering) work for these species as it does for Discosoma?

Any advice gratefully received.

Sorry forgot to ask, does the same procedure work for actinodiscus species. I am pretty sure that it would be OK, but want to check if for some reason this is an absolute no no.

Thanks

Cant answer the first question from experience but i can say that it does work for actinodiscus.

Fragging of Rhodactis, for me, have proven to be a little more finicky. Sometimes they melt. I have had better luck slicing them in half with a razor blade, let them heal, then chip away, foot and all.
