I want to set up a 15gal tank with a bit of liverock for a hitchhiking crab that we got with some rock. He's a cute little guy (possibly a stone crab) but I don't want him in our main tank with our fish when he gets a bit bigger. (Just got our first fish today! *yipee* A bi-color blenny)

I won't be using a skimmer on the crab tank but what do I need for filteration? It will have about 15-30 of LR, the crab, and maybe a small hermit or two.

Thanks in advance,
Grn

I would think then a Hang On The Back (HOB) power filter like a Whisper should do the trick nicely.

Looking forward to seeing pics when it's up, I was thinking about a crab tank as well. Cheers!

Great! We have a spare filter like that. What do I put in it? The regular filters you can buy for them at Walmart or do I need a special kind?

I'll post some pics of it and our main tank once the crab tank is setup. :-)

if you will just have the crab in, i dont think you need a filter because LR will do that. Just dont overfeed

I would think the standard carbon/cotton filter would work just fine.
