Help ID please

I'm sorry that I can't post a pic, I know that makes id a little more difficult. There are 4 white fluffy things on the sand in my tank. They look like someone has pulled apart a cotton ball until you could see thru it. The biggest is about 2 inches around and the others about 1 in. They seem to be anchored to the sand, because they don't move when the fish touch them. They don't seem to grow, just appear in the am at the size they remain. We have had these twice before, but only one at a time, and they went away after about 2 days.

Any ideas anyone?

Long shot, could be tunicates, sea squirts, sponges. Are you seeing any vents in them?

Here's a trick to tell, turn off all your pumps, so the water becomes very still. Take a few drops of phyto and place near them and see if they pull it in or push it away, if so, then it's probably a tunicate of some sort.
