We had a discussion about refractometers at the meeting which was at Ian's house.
I use one and they are great and very accurate.
The cost varies dramatically, but this is the lowest I've seen so far at DIYreef.com (http://www.diyreef.com/shop/product_info.php?cPath=21&products_id=35)
I don't have personal experience with them, but $43 is as cheap as I've seen for these devices.

Just FYI.

I have a salinity monitor by precision marine. Just open the cabinet, flick the switch, and voila........instant salinity measurement! I love it almost as much as my PH monitor!

Now that I think of it, I should have had a couple of guys bring refractometers to the meeting so I could have checked it's accuracy. :rolleye1:

Maybe we can get a group buy on these. I'd like one too.
