which is best? one or more skimmers CR´s

I have read some posts here where people uses more than one skimmer and /or calcium reactors for their reef setup. I have a 550 gal proyect and i want to know how many units of each should i buy for a adecquate water quality. TIA.

IME, more than 1 skimmer has never worked for me. The most efficient skimmer seems to outcompete the other for nutrients and the lesser skimmer basically does nothing but circulate water.

I've never tried it with skimmers of the same brand though, just these combos over the years: skilter vs Sea Clone, Sea Clone vs BakPak, Bak Pak vs Remora Pro.
