I have a 100gal clarity plus flat back hex. It is plumbed with a 1.5 drain and two 3/4 returns. I'm returning from the ecosystem refugium with a dolphin amp master 3000. I get 900gph after all the head loss coming up from the basement. the system seems to work fine, but the tank is in the bedroom and it's a little noisy.
I installed a durso stand pipe that works well too. It's all the air that rattles around in the drain on the way down. If I slow it down with a ball valve that helps alot, but I lose gph. because I have to slow the pump down too. Now if I do all that and add another one inch return plumbed under the water line with a nozzle screen to add volume to the ecosystem so I have water to pump back at full trottle, Will this work?

Hi there,

You may want to post this in the DIY forum, they have a lot more experience with plumbing questions and schemes to work out overflow gurgle.
