Well my silly sister just bought a used 20 gal tank that was dirty and thought she would clean the whole thing with 409. Im up at college so was not able to be there to stop this... Anyways I told her dont do anything to it until I find out if this problem can be fixed, (im assuming this is bad anyways lol). So if someone could help me/her out... if this can be fixed. Thanks!

Well, tell her to get to rinsing. I would rinse it several times, then fill it with water and let it soak for several hours. You might even consider putting some carbon in the water just to be 100% sure.

My wife uses that stuff and I know the smell seems to hang out for awhile after she uses it.

great, I will tell her to do that. How do you put carbon in the water? Tablets, liquid? Thanks again

That sounds like good advice to me too. Warm or hot water would be best. No more soap. :D Carbon is best used in a small recirculating flter.
