Can you tell us precisely what you are refering too as a "golden eel", ie the scientific name would be good. Common names can be too confusing, I can think of a couple of eels that might get sold off as "golden" eels.

Hi:
I answered your question in the main forum about this. Unless you know what your species name is of the yellow/golden eel, your in for trouble.
W/ that said....the best all around info source for eels is Scott Michaels book "Reef Fish vol1", he has a whole chapter dedicated to morays, and included ID pictures. Highly recommended.

thats why im asking for resources :)
ive talked to two different peopleat the LFS and gotten two different identifications. so i thought i would go the book route. and see if i couldnt ID it myself.
